The Sabancı Foundation, closely observing the best practices in the field of accessibility, introduced new initiatives to its work in this area in 2023 and continued its efforts to ensure accessibility for all its content.

After implementing the “Accessibility Checklist,” all Sabancı Foundation events underwent enhancements to ensure accessibility measures were in place. The accessibility measures included a tactile map, real-time audio description, detailed description of the venue, and live subtitles and supertitles.

Throughout 2023, we continued our accessibility efforts for Changemakers, the Grant Programs, the Short Film Competition, and special event videos. This support extended to providing audio descriptions, Turkish Sign Language interpretation, and descriptive subtitles for our video content.

Following the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023, we donated wheelchairs and medical supplies to the affected region. Furthermore, we offered interpretation and communication support to both Turkish and international institutions for the exchange of experiences regarding accessibility and communication with people with disabilities during times of crisis.
